GOOD FOOD COP23 Bonn

Panel discussion

Venue: Kunstmuseum Bonn, Auditorium, Friedrich-Ebert- Allee 2, 53113 Bonn
When: November 15, 2017, 6-8 pm

Panelists: Tino Sehgal (artist, UK/Germany), Sam Hopkins (artist UK/Kenya), Dr. Lynn Wilson (CEO SeaTrust Institute, USA), Dr. Bremley M B Lyngdoh (Founder and Chief Executive Worldview Impact Foundation, India/UK), Yugratna Srivastava (Plant-for-the-Planet, young climate activist, India) Motsomi Maletjane (UNFCCC Bonn), Heyman Mahood (student at the Bertolt Brecht Integrated School Bonn), Anne-Marie Melster (ARTPORT, curator, co-moderator), Dr. Thomas Bruhn (IASS Potsdam, co-moderator).

The panel, as part of the general program GOOD FOOD COP23, explored creative solutions and methods that can inspire change in behavior and policy towards food production and consumption as the world faces severe challenges due to climate change. How can local experts from diverse disciplines – art, science, education, policy, and agriculture – and regions whose work focuses on food production and consumption in one way or another, come together and tap into potential synergies for common goals? These discussions generally leave out the artist’s voice. We always want to include it and also ask if and how art can be a catalyst for change in this field.
