🌊📚 We have some thrilling news to share with you in our June newsletter!
📖 Book Launch: Join us on July 18th at CLB Berlin for the grand launch of “WE ARE OCEAN Berlin+Brandenburg.” This book brings together artists, scientists, politicians, and educators to explore the ocean’s importance in the context of climate change. Experience a captivating evening with editor Anne-Marie Melster, author Julia Moritz, and curator Elang Basadi. Plus, special guest Nick Nuttall will perform songs from his latest album, “Just Because Some Bad Wind Blows.” You won’t want to miss it! 🇩🇰 WE ARE OCEAN Goes to Denmark: We’re excited to bring the WE ARE OCEAN project to Denmark! We’ll be hosting a public outreach program at MARSK CAMP, where students from local schools will explore the vast ecosystem of the Wadden Sea with German artist Insa Winkler. This immersive experience, curated by Julia Moritz and Anne-Marie Melster, will deepen their understanding of this unique natural wonder. Our heartfelt gratitude goes to The Lighthouse Foundation and our partner, MARSK CAMP, for making this possible. 🌊 WE ARE OCEAN Mallorca: In the fall of 2023, we’re launching WE ARE OCEAN Mallorca, a long-term program in collaboration with Positive Lab. Together with artist Miguel Sbastida and Sandra Mallol from the Spanish Oceanographic Institute, we’ll develop artistic workshops focused on the significance of healthy coral reefs in the Balearic Islands. This project aims to empower youth, promote eco-feminine leadership, and support underprivileged groups. We’re grateful for the support from our partners, including the Spanish Oceanographic Institute (IEO), the Fundación Ona Futura and the Mallorca Preservation Fund. Stay tuned for more updates and join us in making waves for a better future! 🌊🌟
