Lina Vincent_Associate Curator India

Lina Vincent is an independent art historian and curator with two decades of experience in arts management. Since 2009, Lina has worked on multi-layered projects that highlight plural approaches, with a focus on inclusivity and collaboration in public arts engagement. This has resulted in interconnected bodies of research and curation that bring together diverse voices, modes of expression, and interfaces for dialogue.

The focus areas of her research extend to projects involving arts education, printmaking history and practice, documentation of living traditions and folk arts in India, and environmental consciousness in the arts. Her current practice emphasizes sustained engagement with material culture and social history, explored through acts of community interaction, documentation and display, archiving, and interpretation.

Her ongoing engagements include the development of Sandooka – The Living Museum of Kodava Culture, a virtual project commissioned by India Foundation for the Arts (IFA); Goa Familia, an archival photography project with Serendipity Arts Foundation; and the Sunaparanta Art Initiator Lab (S.A.I.L) mentorship project in Goa. She concluded an Archival Museum Fellowship through IFA at the Goa Chitra Museum (2018–19) and led the Piramal Residency Artist Incubator Programme (2019–20).

Lina has been a curatorial associate with ARTPORT_making waves since 2014. She worked on Story of Space – an art and science festival in Goa (2017), and Tabiyat: Medicine and Healing in India at CSMVS, Mumbai (2016–17). She has curated numerous exhibitions with galleries across India and contributes to publications on art history and contemporary cultural practices.

Lina holds a BFA in Printmaking and an MFA in Art History from Bangalore University. She is Associate Curator with ARTPORT_making waves and Chief Program Designer, Visual Art & Design, for Sublime’s TFAI (Teaching for Artistic Innovation) in Bangalore.
