WE ARE OCEAN_Blaupause Mecklenburg-Vorpommern

We invite you all to join us on the 9th of July at 12:30 pm at Deutsches Meeresmuseum Stralsund for an open Fishbowl discussion with the students of Windland regional school and the following exhibition opening with works by Tue Greenfort, Michelle-Marie Letelier, Till Krause, Riikka Tauriainen and Insa Winkler.

As part of the nationwide WE ARE OCEAN_Blaupausen program, students from Windland Regional School on the island of Rügen will work this week with artist Michelle-Marie Letelier to create artworks inspired by the Baltic Sea’s seagrass meadows—vital yet threatened ecosystems that play a key role in climate protection. Supported by the scientist Dr. Dorit Visbeck-Liebers from the Deutsches Meeresmuseum, the team will include local field trips.

The artistic results will be presented by the students in the Deutsches Meeresmuseum in Stralsund on the 9th of July, together with the Opening of the WE ARE OCEAN Blaupausen exhibition, which brings together works from all previous WE ARE OCEAN_Blaupausen projects. By combining contemporary art with scientific perspectives, it offers fresh insights into blue climate action and our shared responsibility for protecting the ocean.
