“WE ARE OCEAN_WADDEN SEA” brings together a diversity of stakeholders in and around the region in three different countries (Denmark, Germany, and The Netherlands).

WE ARE OCEAN WADDEN SEA is an interactive journey created by ARTPORT_making waves, curated by Anne-Marie Melster in partnership with the instrument inventors The Hague, BUND Niedersachsen and other organisations delivered by a group of artists in Germany, Denmark and The Netherlands where in a first part local students reflected on the effects of climate change on the Wadden Sea and how this is affecting the ecosystems and the culture of the land.

This November in Wilhelmshaven we and different agents of this project will come together to reflect on, present and discuss the two parts that took place this year, one in the Wurster Nordseeküste, Germany and one in the provinces of Friesland and Groningen, Netherlands. The two artists, Sophia Bulgakova and Insa Winkler, as well as the curators Anastasia Loginova and Anne-Marie Melster and the participating students will be there to present their collaborative artistic work and to speak about their experience with this interdisciplinary art project.

We will screen for a first time the two films that were created during the workshops this summer, next to participatory activities and an exhibition of the artistic outcomes. There will also be time to directly interact with all of the participants and ask questions during a fishbowl discussion, including artists, curators, students and scientists.
